Well, thanks for giving away the hidden feature only Izzy and I know about yes, thats on the todo list as well.

So this may sound a bit ambitious and maybe impossible, but what about this:

If you could somehow sync the chat in the main lobby to irc, that'd be pretty cool. If you think that is a bad idea, sorry. And if that is impossible, oh well.

It actually look me only a few minutes to get it working (webchat link). Now just need to hack it up a bit more to print out the log.

If you are logged in it will use USERNAME-web, if not it will be smo_rand(1000,99999)-web

If any complications should arise though, I just want it to be known that I feel chatango is actually fairly nice. It really isn't that ugly and doesn't have errors or crash like irc was for me in the past.

So IRC is basically dead right now. I am going to blame that fact the most people don't like dealing with IRC clients and whatnot. The web client we currently have is also not the greatest.

The chatango is a nice lil workaround but is not ideal (and its ugly). So I am working on a javascript IRC client catered to SMO right now that will autologin and enter the SMO chat. As well as show the history of the conversation that was going on before you even arrived. Similar to the chatango thing.

Hopefully should have this completed in a couple days.

Ive never gotten IRC, and have never cared for it. If you put it on the homepage, I'm sure the userbase using it will quadruple.

We should embed the irc somewhere on the homepage so people don't have to connect through a client. Most people would never use IRC or bother downloading some browser extension.

Just setup an IRC channel.
