Stepmania Online

Sadly, I have had a lot of issues with Stepmania v5.0 Alpha 3.

The problem now is that when I go to the options to change note tracks on the smonline.net server, the game plays fine, but when I exit or even complete the chart with some note deleting settings on the options to make the song easier, the game crashes and I have to reconnect. If anyone has had this problem, please let me know. This might be unfixable.

I use Windows XP, and I didn't screw with the game at all. I only change the settings on the server for song options to remove some notes to make the chart easier. Abyssal is the main example.

you could try turning down some graphical settings. Most notably you should turn off v-sync.

I keep v-sync on to avoid tearing. But I switched to SM 3.95 and it doesn't do that on 3.95. Sm 5.0 is in beta state, but there should be a stepmania 5.0 alpha 4 next year before the summer that can fix out all the bugs.

It was stepmania 5 itself in a beta state. Betas are obviously incomplete versions of a game and they contain tons of bugs that are easy to find. This is why I am staying on 3.95 from now on, because SM 3.9/CVS never crashes from anything but triggering a certain invalid thing in the game or from a song.

Wait... you are using 3.95 because SM5 is too 'beta' for you?
