Scoring Discrepancy

This has probably already been mentioned but when I get to the results screen and have a 5p AAA on something, then hit down to view another player's score, I return to my score and find that I had a 4p AAA. I originally thought my eyes were playing tricks on me but this happens literally more than 50% of the time. If what I read from blind in another thread is true then SMO is technically not the same scoring equivalent of offline?
It might sound nit-picky but I don't want to have someone hold a WR on something by a perf or two simply because they played online.
Explanation?

I say we just go back to how it was so that it records exactly what you get. If that solves the 1-3 arrows difference.

Like foxfire is saying it is an issue that is somewhat on purpose, but as a result of having server side scoring. By making it 3.999 judging we are reducing the number of false positive perfects at the cost of false positive marvelous.

Have you guys tried doing like .02252 or something in between 0 and 5?

I'd honestly prefer the judge conversion to be removed if it made the scoring accurate.

Sure, but then cheating will be easy.

Yeah I suppose that's true. It's just that I would like to think that in a game this old and with a community this small and whatnot, people wouldn't really feel the need to cheat to get good scores. With the current setup, it makes me feel like I'm the one cheating every time I get 2-3 fewer perfects than I should. Yesterday I got a AAA on a song I shouldn't have because the server removed the single great I got. But yeah, I dunno. If you think people would abuse the system and cheat, I guess this might be the best solution.
Have you guys considered blind's suggestion though? It seems like it would minimize the problem here.
