That is interesting. I wouldn't have thought people use so many outdated versions. At least the top 3 are the ones we put as the recommended versions.

I'm not surprised 3.95 is still the most used version. It has always been by far the best and most stable stepmania.

The 3.9 version has always been so good there was really never a need for any newer versions

Stepmania 5 is more stable and has a lot of additional features, but I would have still preferred they just continued development on 3.9 and fixed any issues that had.

Oh well, now we have both. I wish I could play on sm5, but the accuracy just doesn't work for me.

It's too bad the online mode hasn't developed any further. I mean, it's great to be able to play online but there's so much room for improvement

Just the fact to be able to download the song a user chooses on the run would be an amazing addition imo. Then, there could be filters on the rooms with basic settings like difficulty, playstyle, etc... but I'm just dreaming of the perfect SMO I don't complain about being able to play online with friends or players from all around the world. Just for that, I think the SMO staff deserve a high five o/

Are you guys serious? What the heck? StepMania 3.95 IS NOT A REAL VERSION. How in the world did this go to something I posted up somewhere a while ago as an example to something people use??? I mean one of the reasons I was shunned from StepMania was because I released that non-version. They didn't want a million busted versions running around out there with people submitting impossible-to-fix bug reports. There is this strange backward cohort of people who still use this gimped up poorly built dump I made from CVS a long time ago. Surely they must be crazy.

I suppose Glenn was right for getting rid of me.

rebirth posts is pretty much the perfect example of why I and a load of other people that work on sm5 don't really bother with most people from FFR anymore because they have no idea what they are talking about and starting an argument about it just isn't worth it.

Could you make an automatic message pop up saying "Hey, we see you are using an older/unofficial version of the game, why don't you try sm5?" pop up when it detects they aren't on sm5?
