Better Average Score

As you can see clearly from the title, we need a better average score system on our profiles. When there's a marathon/long song, the score can be increased by over 100 million. Honestly, that's unfair. How about dividing the scores by 2 or 3 depending if it's a long song or marathon song, respectively? That could also allow for a better ranking system that ranks people by their average score! (just make sure the songs aren't easy as hell so you can get the score really easily, for example, Doin' The Kirby )
So, what do you think?

Another major problem is that the scoring system is non standard across multiple clients such as sm5, 3.95 and openITG. It is basically a useless statistic since the client can just send whatever numbers it wants as their score.

That's true too... Would there be a way to measure skill with anything, though? I'd like to see the best players at the top of the rankings instead of the player who plays the most.

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2317We had thought up and discussed ways to do it in the past. There are so many limitations with the current smo protocol and what is being sent from the client to the server that we can't perfectly distinguish simfiles.
