Are all the song packs on this website safe

Im just wondring because i have had songpacks with screams aka me start playing the song gets about 30 seconds in then the screen just has a loud scream and flashing face. So i just want to know its something that has made me stop playing stepmania and i just got back into it i just want to know if this site is safe from stuff like that.

I think it's safe to say that most of the packs on this site were uploaded without somebody playing each individual file. That means there's the risk of what you describe happening in one of these packs. If you're really that freaked out about it, just turn off background videos (although that wouldn't stop the screaming part...)

Technically speaking, no they aren't "safe" from that happening if a pack happened to accept a file like this. Though I have played hundreds of these packs, and I haven't seen one of these sorts of files, and the majority of the packs I haven't played are mainly old DDR / pad packs from sites long since passed. I can say with certainty if you download a pack and play it, you will pretty much have no chance of seeing one of those files (because they would be stupid, and no pack creator would accept them). I won't say though that it is impossible to come across one, but highly unlikely for sure.

Or basically any file from a joke pack if you are worried about that issue, that's the only unsafe file by your definition that I know exists.
