Playing rates on SMO? (solved)

I'm pretty sure that SMO itself doesn't actually prevent players from playing songs on rates, and that is is essentially a client issue. Whenever I connect to SMO, the amount of available options are reduced significantly, and I end up losing one of the only options I would ever bother to change during a session, rates.

I'm not exactly a person who knows too much about the theme structure of StepMania (StepMania 5 beta 1 by the way) and I couldn't find anything useful to allow me to change which options show up when I'm connected to a network like SMO. If anyone knows how to rearrange the options in such a way that rates would show up on the options screen when I am connected to a network, it would be highly appreciated. As it is now, if I want to mess around with rates, I have to stay disconnected (because I'm not connecting to SMO, making a room, and playing a song or two on a single rate, just to back out, disconnect, change the rate again, and reconnect).

If certain options need to be removed to make room for rates, I could completely care less about them honestly. The only options that I am concerned with are my speed mod and rates really, all the other silly effects are not important to me. Again, if anyone can help me out with this, I would be very grateful. After really messing with rates last night for a little over an hour, I have come to find it really brings some easier songs to life, and makes some charts actually much funner in my honest opinion. I really would love to mess around with this and be connected to SMO (so I can potentially play others in rate challenges, and of course get EXP since I'd actually be connected here playing stuff).

EDIT: For SM5, this has been solved. Check out my post below to play on SMO with rates if you want to! This may be different with 3.95, open itg, sm4 or anything else, and I can't help you with that.

Izzy said it's client side. So I'm sure some where in the preferences you can change which page the options show up on.

I feel like it will be more complicated than a themeing issue. You would have to compile your own client with rate selection on the other page of options.

Leaving out the 2nd page must have been a design choice that they made for 3.95 and 5 even though it technically wouldn't break anything.

I thought about this and I actually put the rates on the 1st page of modifiers:



But when I put a rate on SMO, it reverts back to 1.0. I think it's to avoid using lower rates and get higher score easily

Just tell me if you still want that, I can try to find where I changed things (I had to change the code on several spots, and I'm not sure which one ended up working).

Hmm... Interesting... I have yet to test this but, assuming you enable this, players who do not use this option will have a time difference. Obviously meaning, they will remain in game playing while you will be waiting in the room until their done. This is not really a issue but it could become annoying for really long songs.

Anyway, as for this topic, nice. I wouldn't mind playing this for fun online. However, I would never use it playing with others. Thanks for the code.
