I'm new to the forums so I apologize if this is the wrong section
I recently downloaded stepmania 3.9, however, when I attempt to run it I receive this error message:
"The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'StepMania.lnk" refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and than try again."

Try going into the program folder inside the stepmania folder and clicking stepmania.exe instead of the shortcut.

Where have you looked? It might be in your program files directory, but if not it may be listed in your start menu. You may be able to do Start -> All Programs -> StepMania -> Open file location.

In Win8, you should find it if you click down from the start screen and scroll through the programs listed there. Then right-click on the Stepmania icon, 'open file location' and then 'open Stepmania program folder'.
Also, I usually go to the program folder by opening Windows Explorer and clicking the C: in the left menu right under documents, music, videos, etc. This brings me to programs and then I only have to scroll down to S.
