SMO "For Fun" Tournament [Concluded]

Count me in. Haven't seen an SMO tourney in forever.

The time of the tournament should probably be on a friday/saturday at a good time for most people. Also, I was thinking, what if the time is based in say, America, when someone in Japan wants to play in it? I'm sure most people can stay up but timing might be tricky.

How many rounds are you are going to have for this tournament? And how many songs for each round?

It's a knock out round per song. (Song Total will depend on how many people join the tournament.) So...

Song Total = Total Players - 1.

If it's going to be a knock out round, however, then I suggest you put up how much time do people have to post up their best score before the next round starts. Consider people with the lowest score will be eliminated.

Example:

20 people have 24 hours to put up their best score and have the score submitted.
*After 24 hours, someone with the lowest score will be taken out.

I may not know much about SM tournaments, so this is just a suggestion.

Another suggestion: If the tournament is going in all at once and people have one shot to get the best score, I would suggest putting the song pool before the actual round starts so people might have chance to practice and prepare what's coming up to them.

I wait until the a day before the tournament and announce the song list? This way, they have 24 hours to sync the files/practice some of the files? Is that acceptable with everyone? It may throw the bias off a bit but, the competitors do need some prep work...

One other thing I wish to point out, to keep the tournament room chat clean, observers, please use owenviau1's twitch chat or SMO's chatango for discussion. Please do not cause random idle chatter in the tournament room. Thanks. (If it becomes bad enough, I will have to disable web chat. I don't want to do this in case a player crashes/disconnects.)

Spooky, denkyu do want to join this tournament, but the problem is he probably can't understand most of the rules since it's in English. I might have to figure out how to get someone who's fluent in English and Japanese to translate this for non-English speaking people that wish to join this tournament.

I think that the tournament should be index only for the simple fact that mostly indexers are joining than spreaders. I think you should think about that.
