Well from what I can see it looks like the group doesn't exist anymore (along with a couple others). Someone must have revised the usergroups recently. Regardless, being a "power user" didn't do anything, and it never had any set way to be obtained. Considering that, I wouldn't worry about it's disappearance too much.

It was removed because it had no purpose. (Same with developers group.) Me/Izzy was discussing it. He removed it for now.

Kc, That group was useless it had no purpose on the forums whatsoever. Please just stop posting and think to yourself. " Is this relevant to the forums?" before you post. You could have also asked this in private message not public. People don't need to know your problems.
