Stepmania Windows from USBstick without admin?

Hii There,

I have been playing stepmania for a few months right now (still really bad at it), but I want to play it as school in the lunchbreaks too. I normally eat and do nothing right now, while I could also be playing stepmania.
but because Stepmania needs admin rights (which I don't have) I can't play stepmania T_T
is there a way to play stepmania from a USB stick without admin rights? that would be awesome!

no idea why you need administrator rights, but if you got sm5 do you have a portable.ini file in your stepmania folder, becasue without it it wants to save data in the appdata of the current user, which might be your issue with administrator rights :>

Are you talking about playing Stepmania, or installing Stepmania? Have you installed it to your laptop yet?

I know that administrator access is required to install Stepmania 5, but I don't know about playing it. When I was in high school with my high school laptop I was able to install and play Stepmania 3.9, so that might work for you.

I tried to play it, but asked me to enter the admin password (I've copied D:/StepMania5 to the USB stick)...
I don't have a portable.ini in my SM5 directory, and I don't know what to put in the file...

EDIT: seems that it works now that I have created portable.ini, whish had to be just a blank file.

Thanks for telling me that portable.ini exists, now I can show my whole school how bad I am at this game
