Basically right now I just have 4 up. They are all easy for the most part but are fun on pad.

Ayumi - Heartplace - a 9 foot pad chart. Original file

Was one of my earlier charts. It's BarX's favorite of mine he says, but I personally think my others are a bit better. Feel free to let me know what you think. Constructive crits are always welcome. If you have to flame, give me a reason for it.

Golden Sky - the official DDR Supernova charts plus an Oni. The Oni is mine. It's another 9 foot pad chart.

I personally think this one has a very ddr feel to it and think I did a really good job on it. Again, con-crits are welcome. You wanna flame give a reason.(I wont improve with just "it sucks")

5 Strings - Diving - the DDR 8th mix home official plus an Oni. The Oni is mine. Another 9 foot Pad.

Personal feelings - this is my best chart I think. It has a really good flow to it and it wicked fun on pad. Crits welcome. Flame for a reason.

Flying Battery Zone (1)- Sonic and Knuckles - 10 Foot Pad. Original file.

Thoughts - This is my newest simfile and I think it's alright. There are defiantly some things I could do to improve and or fix in it. The ending audio cuts off because my mix programs suck and I couldn't get audacity to work for me.

I will add more simfiles later. I am working on something special but it is gonna take a long time. (It's a 20 minute song)

Also, @ Owen, if you haven't played my sims and have no feedback to give, I don't see a point in posting "I will download it later." Especially considering last time I posted sims on SMO you said that and never did.(<- *is the reason I am calling you out on it*) I don't think the mods here approve of replying souly for the sake of upping your post count. Just sayin.

Anyways, I wanted to give a bit more info on my next simfile because it's going to be a first for me.

I am making a 30 minute Pokemon remix simfile because the announcement of X/Y have me on a Pokemon kick lately and I figure I will do something in honor of that. This file is gonna be pretty big and is gonna take a bit of time but I want to make it at least a 13. Its gonna be an index chart because I really can't make anything more then pad files or index charts because my spread skills suck and I don't understand the flow and arrow placement of spread charts.

That brings me to my next point - do any of you better players have any tips for making spread files? Or what chart flow is supposed to look like? If someone could explain it to me a little bit, or explain some of the gimmics you see in them (I usually see a lot of step jumps and hands, but I can't distinguish the difference between badly placed arrows and spread style stream because as an index player they look the same to me.)

I know playing spread files more would give me more of a clue but I am just not that good at them and figured maybe if someone could explain the differences between a badly done index chart (incomplete crossovers etc) and a spread chart then maybe I could start to understand.

I know you said you're doing index/pad, but here's a half hour song with spread steps. Hopefully it's not that song!

As for spread stepping. It's tedious work. Best thing you can do is give it a try, and send a sim to the smo pack, and get reviews from the judges. (Rebirth would probably be best to get advice from)

Also, the idiot who posted first is an annoyance. This sites only been up for a few months, and he's already been banned, and mocked. No one likes him, just ignore him.

Well it's good to know that the song is popular heh. Too bad he doesn't give a download link. That could have saved me hours of syncing.

In any case, thank you for the vid. It still just looks like over excessive jumps to me and odd arrow placement. >.> I wish I was as good as you guys at this kind of thing. I get the tedium of it all. Any simfile for me is kind of tedious to make, but only because I don't use control R, and I don't have a very good idea of what arrow goes on what beat, making for a lot of trial and error. Purples when I should be using yellows for gallops sometimes for example. (as seen in my flying battery zone chart, it took me forever before I realized that two yellows in a row was how to get the gallops on the beat I wanted. I sat there for 30 mins wondering why the arrows weren't matching up where I wanted them.)

I know these things can take time. Maybe if I study some spread charts I will get a better idea.

Not a problem. Just make sure to give credit for syncing to le0nid. =)

Will do. ^_^ I usually tell where the sims came from if I use a pre existing one. My format you can see up there. I gave credit to DDR, because it was pre existing thus everything is synced by the ones who originally made the simfile. I just took credit for the Oni level only. Others that I did my self, I say hehe.

I hope you like my files. I am aware that they are easy, and not a lot of people like index charts below 13's but its what I do best, rather than trying to make a stupidly hard chart and then destroying the file as a result. I prefer good simple charts to crappy harder ones. Quality over difficulty.

You could always go for the oldschool keyboard stepping. Try packs like community keyboards 1/2 f4/f5/ppp and download popular sim artists of back then like bemaniruler,eggman,reach,archowl. That should give you examples of "easy" spread charts.

Heartplace- sync was fine. None of the 16th notes sounds like they should be in there except for one when it goes to the bass drum.

Flying Battery Zone- Bpm didn't feel right, and made it feel off sync. There also wasn't much flow going on in the file.

Golden sky- Felt like an official DDR stepfile. Though, those rolls don't seem necessary.

Diving- Only qualm is that the freezes before the freeze fest section don't belong.


Besides those things, not bad for your starting files. Let me tell you, I had a lot more worse things going on when I started. Just keep practicing!

The copyright thing is absolutely ridiculous. I have that EXACT same simfile uploaded as a single simfile and I don't have that "permission denied" thing on it.

I don't know, lol. I still personally like Heartplace the best so far, even though Diving was pretty fun, haha.

I know you like Heartplace best. Not sure why though lol. Diving is my best I think. It's just really fun.
