Downloads Page Orginization

Looking for suggestions on ways to organize the song packs on the downloads page I was thinking something like this.

4-Key
Name - Size - pad/keyboard - date?

6-Key
Name - Size - pad/keyboard - date?

I'm not sure what other relevant information there would be.

Honestly it isn't too bad the way it is now, and I'm not really sure how relevant the date would be if it was added. Perhaps if you were able to find the release dates of all the packs (I suppose you could check a pack read-me or something and see it's date) it would be useful for sorting purposes, but aside from that I can't think of a good use for a date.

Also if we are adding a lot more packs to the download page, I think that it would be fairly useful to organize packs in alphabetical order for pad only, and then repeat this process for keyboard afterwards. Then pad and keyboard packs aren't cluttered amongst each other and will be nicer for players to navigate through. Also, the number of files within a given pack might be decent information to know, and it wouldn't take that long to find out what they are.

So for example:

4 Key
Some pack - xxxMB (xx files) - Keyboard
Some other pack - xxxMB (xx files) - Keyboard
That pack - xxxMB (xx files) - Keyboard
This pack - xxxMB (xx files) - Keyboard

Derp pack - xxxMB (xx files) - Pad
Ermahgerd pack - xxxMB (xx files) - Pad
Herp pack - xxxMB - xxxMB (xx files) - Pad
Qwerty pack - xxxMB (xx files) - Pad

6 Key
Solo this - xxxMB (xx files) - Keyboard
Solo that - xxxMB (xx files) - Keyboard

I'm fairly certain there are 8-key / pad couples packs out there we could add as well.

The simfile database would make this very easy. Can sort packs by popularity and all that jazz.

I guess Houkou made the downloads page automatically include everything in the downloads folder so this isn't needed anymore.

What exactly is "Izzy Keyboard Megapack"?

I know it's not mine and I don't really want to host that guys files because it will cause more confusion between me and that guy.

I'll probably start uploading some solo packs soon, but so you know I decided to add another level of classification to the page for singles. Packs that specifically specify they have pad and keyboard playable files I have labeled as Hybrid packs. If any of you see a pad and keyboard pack that is labeled as just pad or keyboard that I am unaware of (because let's face it, the pack list is getting huge) just change it to hybrid so players will know.

EDIT: I'm currently attacking a pad pack gold mine, and will hopefully have them ready for uploading in a couple days! There is so much stuff here it might actually even out the pad / keyboard ratio in the downloads section.

Hi! I'm going to try to help with uploading packs and stuff.

I've been running the stepmania song search thing, and I'm thinking that that site will link to the packs here, so that they will all still be easy to find. My site lets me make a description for every pack, so I can clarify that e.g. the Izzy KBMP is from IzzySM and not the Izzy on the FFR/SMO forum. At the same time, this site can have a main "recommended packs" download page with links to good packs of each type (4key, 6key, pad, etc.) and a full list if anyone wants something else.

Pardon the bump but I figured this is the thread to go since it appears to be the general Download Page discussion thread.

Wanted to note that all Vocaloid Collaboration packs are hybrid. They're currently listed as Keyboard
Would be grateful to have it fixed, thanks in advance o/

Ah,
Vocamania Community Fall Pack 2012 is also hybrid (even though there's only 1 pad file in there as far as I know :'D )

The following packs are pad:
Touhou Hokyouso ~ Lunatic Dance Floor
Touhou Mahouyou - Magical Dance Phantasm



It also appears to me that some of the Vocaloid Collaboration packs are way smaller than they should be, I suspect they're the video-less versions. I'll look into that later and tell you exactly which ones are incomplete/wrong. And of course link you to the full packs
