Individual difficulty?

A friend and I started playing online but he is a much higher levels than me. We tried to set our own difficulties but he feels like it lowers his. Is it just our imagination or can't we have different difficulties?

That's odd, you should be perfectly able to select the preferred difficulties for yourselves, independent from the other player.
I'm not sure whether I understand your situation perfectly though. Are you saying your friend ends up having the same difficulty when you choose your own? Or are you both entirely unable to select your preferred difficulty?

The only thing I can think of is you are playing on the same computer with 1 and 2 player and somehow your keys are assigned to the same things.. I dont know.
