The majority of Stepmania files I've seen (I'd give a liberal estimate of at least seventy-five percent) have been for electronic music of one stripe or another, so they're not too difficult to spot if you download even a couple of packs at random.
That being said, there are a few dance-centric packs that you might find of interest.
consists almost exclusively of various genres of electronic dance music; including hardcore, J-core, trance, 'electronic pop', and speedcore.
is another well-executed pack that was released fairly recently; especially dedicated to darkpsy. Its overall difficulty level veers pretty high (the easiest files are 16-footers, keeping in mind that this is a pad-oriented pack) but if that's no obstacle to you I'm sure you'll find it to be very pleasing.
Off the top of my head, there are a decent amount of electronic tracks in , , , 's - packs, and the (surprised?
).
As I said in the beginning of this post, there's a lot of dance music in Stepmania. I'd be surprised if I even scratched the surface with this list! But that should be enough to keep you busy for quite a while, so hopefully it does ye some good. And if you don't feel like rooting through my links for something specific, they're all available in the on the main SMO site.
All of the packs mentioned were intended for pad play with the exception of the Dubstep Minipack; but they're all just as fun (if not more so, depending on your skill level!) when played on keyboard.
EDIT: Oh yes, I also meant to mention the Ayu Trance series. They are not packs, but rather hour-long mixes of vocal trance. I believe there are only two of them (that have been stepped, at any rate), and they both reside in the .
There is also the pack. Pretty self-explanatory.
While we are on the topic of trance, simfile packs, and the like, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing some more tunes by Ektoplazm being stepped! Especially anything that BlackStarrFinale or Antares has released (though to be fair, the latter only ever released one or two tracks on Ekto). Some nitzhonot might be nice to hear/play in SM, too... but I digress! lol
